Let Us Out!

This is the first morning off the boat in Nelson. Where did everyone go? Oh, way up there. Running at full speed.

Doing Laundry

Yup. Wear the grubbiest of the grubbies on passage then throw them all away!

Ok, some left...

...can't throw the sheets and towels out yet.

Garden Bath

Friends invited us for laundry then lunch. Kids got a great outdoor bath play too!

Mapua, South Island, NZ

A drive along the coast with a gorgeous stop for lunch. We're still tourists right?

Crayons for Lunch

Fortunately all over Mya and not all over the borrowed Land Rover.

Kaiteriteri, South Island, NZ

Hurray for moving about on land!

First Day of School!

Off the boat and away we go. The school run has begun.

Drummer Girl

The nice thing about joining a kindergarten at the end of term before Christmas is the special events. The Nelson College for Girls' band came to play for the children. Although Mya was still hesitant she just couldn't resist the look of those drums! and the keyboard. Not so much the brass.

Too many Kids

Mya's first comment regarding kindy (preschool) is that there are "Too many kids Mommy!" Well yes Mya there are. But she warmed up to some games later in the week and began to quite like it as long as Mommy stayed enrolled with her.

New Thermometer

Hey, NZ froze our coconut oil! But as you can see, things are starting to warm up in the midday sun:)

Day 1: Passage from New Caledonia to Nelson, NZ

Mya prevents seasickness by going to sleep. Cory has never been a fan of sleep. He opts to read.

Day 2

Still lots of quiet time.

Day 5:New Cal.-Nelson, NZ

So calm we got to venture on deck for a bounce on Dude. Mya is soooooo proud. Then Scott gets to enjoy a brief quiet moment. Company was coming...

Beautiful Mahi Mahi

The mahi mahi that came for a photo op but not for dinner...Bye bye beautiful fish!

Day 5

What happened to quiet reading???????

Day 8-Bath Time

Brave souls take a bath before the forecast winds arrive. It's chilly out there!

Day 8-Getting Cold!

Day 8-Layers?

Mya still doesn't quite grasp the concept of layering to keep warm.

Day 10-New Cal.-Nelson, NZ

My early morning view before heading off watch and into bed.

Day 10 - Starting to Get Windy

Day 10-Tucked In

Yeah, we wish day 10 hadn't lasted so long too. Here the kids are all tucked in below. Then they got to sleep for the night. Scott and I actually got to spend some time sailing together. The most work we've done for this whole venture!...

Day 11-New Cal to Nelson, NZ

It's still windy but the water in the bay is calm. Everyone is up bright and early for the flag raising. Welcome to NZ!
